The first track of our new EP is about the Russian civil war of 1917-1922 and the execution of the last Romanov imperial family.
In the spirit of the concept "The cult of the Tsars", we have tried to convey the complexity of this controversial historical episode.
On one side, the solemn heritage of the imperial dynasty, the reference to the tsarist anthem and the connection to what the Orthodox Russian Church consider as genuine martyrdom, to the point of canonizing the whole family.
In other verses we have otherwise presented the point of view of the communists: in 1918 the revolution is anything but consolidated, the white army is outside Ekaterinburg, the Bolsheviks believe that should just one member of the imperial family be rescued by the monarchists, he/she could rally enough support to restore the hated tsarist regime. No Romanov can be spared.
